lovely ovaries

Someone I love very much invited me to sit in on their scan.

Big mistake.

As the technician was doing his thing with the scanner and watching the monitor he said, sotto voche; almost to himself.

“Lovely ovaries…”

I could see what he meant – they were lovely.

I later discovered that the illustrated cross section of an ovary contains a garden of wonderful things that look like flowers and ribbons and shinny strings of beads.

I decided to present an ovary as a luscious bountiful fruit; a tea table full of delights.
