The fabric I designed for this cushion is my small tribute to Rosalind Franklin, the British chemist and x ray crystalographer who made a major contribution to the understanding of our DNA.

There is no doubt that Franklins experimental data was used by Crick and Watson to build the double helix model.

Tragically she died of cancer at the age of 37 – just four years before the Noble Prize was awarded to Crick and Watson for their discovery of the structure of DNA.
